On the Internet...

In the earlier days of the Internet, as the World Wide Web was just beginning to get wildly popular, there was a line that humans were constantly tossing around: "On the Internet, nobody knows you're a dog." The notion that this amazing new technology of networked computers encircling the globe afforded such anonynomity was greeted with a combination of celebration and fear. And, as a dog, I was certainly grateful for this erosion of the distinction between canine and man. I could shop, research, and look at pictures of bitches online - in complete privacy!
But now, as the traditional news media struggles to accomodate to a world of self-designated reporters and other such news hounds in the pursuit of truth, notoriety, and the potential to have one's bark heard 'round the world, I, with the unfettered enthusiasm that makes me the star of my neighborhood, forsake my privacy in the creation of this blog and readily submit to the exposure it affords me. To be sure, I did enjoy surfing the web with whatever appropriated identity struck my fancy - an I.P. address hardly lets on that you have fleas or are coping with a barking problem - but, as anyone who knows me (or has recently been around a small child) would understand, there's nothing a dog likes better than attention. "Milo NO!" is the world's first blog written entirely by a dog - a 'dogblog', if you will. I hope you enjoy. Woof.
